Description
Captain Kevin Quinn's family immigrated to Saint John NB Canada from County Lough Ireland onboard the Sailing vessel Cupid in 1834 and since then the Quinn's have been involved with the Port of Saint John whether as Ship Masters, Pilots or Marine Surveyors and Consultants.
Captain Quinn went to sea from 1978- 1995 serving on various vessels, both wet and dry in various capacities during which time he served as
Chief Officer on a large Ro-Ro Container vessel serving in the Persian Gulf War of 1990-1991 under contract by Military Sealift Command and was awarded the "Military Traffic Management Command" for his efforts. He obtained his Master Mariners Certificate in 1988 , and was a Harbour Pilot from 1995-1999 in the Port of Saint John NB. In 1999 Captain Quinn established his own Marine Surveying and Consulting firm that offered good service through experience.
As the business grew so did Captain Quinn's interest in the Marine Insurance Practice and he obtained his Chartered Insurance Professional -Marine Designation in 2009 from the Chartered Insurance Institute of Canada and was subsequently recognized by the Canadian Board of Marine Underwriters for this achievement.
Captain Quinn lives at Woodmans Point , just outside the Port of Saint John, on the beautiful St. John River with his wife Sue and their 5 children.
